The EU-ALMPO project, a Horizon Europe initiative bringing\u00a0together social sciences and artificial intelligence, is\u00a0entering\u00a0a new phase in April 2026.\u00a0As part of it, it\u00a0will launch its Communities of Practice (CoPs)\u00a0focused\u00a0on AI-supported skills matching policies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

These\u00a0won\u2019t\u00a0be typical meetings. Instead, they are designed as hands-on, collaborative spaces where\u00a0stakeholders\u00a0can share real experiences\u00a0and\u00a0help\u00a0share\u00a0AI\u00a0tools\u00a0that\u00a0will be tested in the second half of 2026.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

From Evidence to Action<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In\u00a0the second half of 2025, the project built\u00a0a strong evidence\u00a0using real-world\u00a0data. It mapped skills ecosystems across\u00a0these Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain and Poland,\u00a0identifying\u00a0good practices and developing in-depth case studies.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

This work followed a realist evaluation approach –\u00a0Context-Mechanism-Outcome\u00a0(CMO), which helps explain not just what works, but why it works, in which contexts, and for whom. This deeper understanding is essential for developing AI tools that are reliable, context-aware, and as free from bias as possible.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

How the Communities of Practice Will Work<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The CoPs are\u00a0designed to be practical and interactive.\u00a0Participants will work with real examples and reflect on what makes certain approaches succeed-or fail.\u00a0Each session will cover four connected topics:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

  • CMO configurations<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  • Enablers and barriers to success<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  • Data and documentation needs<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  • Potential AI functions.

    <\/li><\/ul>

    The sessions will take place at two levels.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    National levels.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0A national session,\u00a0bringing together Public Employment Services, ministries, training providers, social partners, and experts.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    Two international sessions<\/span><\/b>\u00a0will allow cross-country comparison and discussion.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    A survey will complement the sessions by collecting stakeholder input on AI functions and user needs in a systematic way.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    Building AI Tools That Work for People<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    The results from the CoPs and the survey will\u00a0directly inform\u00a0the design of AI-based tools to support Active Labour Market Policies. These tools will be tested in late 2026,\u00a0built not only on technical innovation but also on\u00a0real evidence\u00a0and the experience of practitioners and policymakers.\u00a0The goal is simple:\u00a0<\/span>EU-ALMPO\u00a0truly\u00a0wants\u00a0to make sure that these digital tools\u00a0actually work\u00a0for the people who will use them<\/span><\/b>\u00a0\u2013 supporting better labour market policies across Europe.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
